Participation in the 9th meeting of the Mediterranean Engineering Group (MEG)

In the framework of expanding our activities abroad and exchanging experience and expertise with peers, our business associate Mr. Stratis Babalikis, Urban Planner MSc MPhil, has participated in the 9th meeting of MEG held in Ankara, Turkey on Tuesday 04/06/13, representing also the Hellenic Association of Consulting Firms (HELLASCO) to which ROIKOS SA’s President and Managing Director is a Board member.

MEG is an informal working group bringing together professional associations of consultants and engineers working in the Mediterranean such as the: Greek HELLASCO, Turkish ATCEA, French Syntec-Ingenierie, Spanish TECNIBERIA, Moroccan FMCI, Italian OICE etc. The workshop was organised by the Association of Turkish Consulting Engineers and Architects (ATCEA) with the assistance of UFM (Union for the Mediterranean), EFCA (European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations) and FIDIC. The event included, among others, proposals and presentations from the above organisations in connection with the development of major technical infrastructure projects in Turkey and opportunities for business cooperation in the Mediterranean region and elsewhere in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa, where MEG members’ activities span. The workshop included B2B networking sessions in order to promote business collaborations, in particular with Turkey, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Morocco, that were represented in the meeting. During the event, a preliminary briefing on the “flagship” FIDIC conference in Barcelona in September 2013 (celebration of 100 years since its inception) has been given.
