Presentation on the Local Spatial Development Planning Study of Kalampaka

On 21st April 2015, our staff members Alexandra Papadima and Stratis Babalikis presented in an open discussion organised in Kalampaka the Special Essay of land uses requested from the newly enacted Law 4269/14 which has resulted in a major modification of the existing land use classification system.

The discussion held was very constructive for two main reasons: first, it allowed for more members of the local community to take part in the discussion and hence facilitated consensus on the land uses proposed (it should be noted that 2 more open discussions have been held to discuss proposals of the Local Spatial Development Planning Study, while all relevant material has been uploaded on the Municipality’s and our company’s website to promote wider dissemination and consultation), and second, through the Special Essay we had the opportunity to discuss in detail the land uses proposed with peers and, effectively, an “expert audience”, since members of the local Technical Chamber have participated in, and contributed to, the discussion.

The organisation of the above event fits to our overall philosophy and methodological approach, according to which promoting local public participation and consensus are pivotal to the successful completion of the on-going spatial development planning study.
