New contract signed with the Municipality of Marathon

Our company ROIKOS SA (leader), in a consortium with the companies NAMA SA and EPTA SA, following an open tender launched by the Municipality of Marathon, has been commissioned with the project: “Detailed Design Study of the sewerage network and the Waste Water Treatment Plant in the Municipality of Marathon”.

The contract was signed on 13/4/2016, with a fee of 2.080.797,00 € (excl. VAT) and duration of fifteen (15) months. The project has been proposed by the Region of Attica and has got approval for funding through the Operational Programme “Transport Infrastructure, Environment and Sustainable Development 2014-2020”.

The tasks of the contract include the preparation of the necessary studies (topographic surveys, geotechnical studies and investigations, hydraulic studies, structural design, electromechanical studies, process design, economic analysis and environmental studies) and tender documents for the wastewater management infrastructure (collection, transmission, treatment and disposal) in the Municipality of Marathon (capacity of 85.000 p.e. at the 1^st phase and 110.000 p.e. at the final phase).

The sound, qualitative and timely preparation of the studies is of the utmost importance for the Municipality of Marathon, on the one hand, because the provision of the infrastructure for wastewater management is a major issue for the protection of the public health and the environment, and on the other hand, due to the fact the European Commission has already issued an infringement case to the Municipality of Marathon for breaching the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive 91/271/EEC.
