Signing a new contract in Ethiopia
Our company ROIKOS SA (Leader) in a joint venture with Z&A SA, on 12.03.2021 has signed a contract for providing “Consulting Services for Development of an Integrated City Wide Sanitation Plan, Feasibility Study and Detail Design of Waste Water Management System for Arba Minch and Sodo Towns“. SNNP Water, Mines and Energy Development Bureau is the Client of this Project and will conduct the procurement and contract management while during the study and design period, deliverables of the Consultants will be reviewed by the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Oromia Water, Mineral and Energy Bureau, as well as Utilities and Town-level Stakeholders.
The overall objective of the study is to conduct assessment, feasibility study and detail design of wastewater management schemes, enabling realization of citywide inclusive sanitation (CWIS) for the two Ethiopian towns, Wolaita Sodo and Arbaminch (approx. 175,000 and 200.000 inhabitants respectively).
For both towns namely the following studies and tasks are included:
- to conduct thorough review of previous studies and documents and undertake assessment on missing part with respect to liquid waste, solid waste, and urban drainage including the institutional arrangement, infrastructures, existing structure policies, strategies, strategic development plans at national, region, and towns’ levels and developing an appropriate institutional framework and action plan covering wastewater, and other facilities used for sanitation / sewerage services provision and management.
- to prepare design and bidding document for short term interventions of fecal sludge management.
- to conduct feasibility study, detail design and bidding document for additional short, medium term and long term liquid waste management investment that addresses current challenges the town faces selecting appropriate CWIS management infrastructure, and recommend commensurate management system (financial and business arrangements, regulatory framework, and customer-oriented programs).
