New contract signing with the Municipality of Preveza

Our company ROIKOS SA, in collaboration with the company EPTA SA, signed on 25.4.2018, the contract with the Municipality of Preveza for the preparation of the «ACTION PLAN FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PREVEZA», following an open tender in accordance with law Ν. 4412/2016 provisions.

Energy saving and the implementation of actions to raise awareness and inform citizens about sustainable energy and the environment are key areas of action for the Municipality of Preveza. Therefore, the Municipality of Preveza intends to implement the Municipality’s energy planning in order to select and implement appropriate actions that will bring energy savings and increase in the use of renewable energy sources.

In this context, the Municipality of Preveza will accede to the Covenant of Mayors and will commit to actions that bring energy savings and increase in the use of renewable energy in order to achieve the EU’s greenhouse gas reduction target of 40% until 2030. In order to be able to meet these commitments, an Action Plan for Sustainable Energy is required.

The preparation and approval of the above Action Plan is a prerequisite for funding from sectoral and regional NSRF programmes in the framework of the energy upgrading interventions in municipal buildings, facilities, premises and infrastructure of the Municipality of Preveza.

The preparation of this specific study consists of the following distinct individual stages:

• Establishment of the overall strategy of the Municipality of Preveza in the field of energy.
• Recording of reference emissions, based on data collection and analysis of energy consumption within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality.
• Planning actions and measures related to energy saving, promotion of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and improvement of citizens’ behavior in respect to energy consumption, aiming to reduce carbon dioxide gases. The actions proposed will be evaluated and the most suitable for inclusion in the Action Plan will be selected, in order to achieve the objectives of the Municipality.

It should be noted that for the completeness of the Action Plan, in accordance with the requirements of the Covenant of Mayors, the following will be incorporated into the Action Plan for Sustainable Energy:

1. Risk and vulnerability analysis, and
2. actions for the Climate.
