Signing a new contract with the Municipality of Troizinia-Methana

Our company, following an international tender, procured by the Municipality of Troizinia-Methana, has been commissioned with the execution of the contract “Study for the expansion – revision of the approved town plan of Galata town in the Municipality of Troizinia-Methana”. The contract was signed on 18.02.2019.

The project scope is the expansion and revision of the approved town plan of Galata urban settlement, namely the completion of the cadastral and urban planning (extension and revision) studies, the drawing up of a cadastral plot layout for the implementation on the ground of the urban planning and the road elevation studies. The total area under study is 65 hectares, 40 of which are the expansion area and 25 hectares the approved town plan area.

The overall objective of the study is to meet the estimated housing needs and to harmonize the existing town plan with the principles of sustainable housing development. In this regard, specific objectives will be set, which are related to the management of the built environment and the provision of the necessary new land for Galata’s residential development, through the design of land uses and building requirements that will meet qualitative and quantitative criteria that comply with the principles of sustainability and the development prospects of the area. The specific objectives also include the improvement of the residents’ standard of living, while addressing their infrastructure and service needs and incorporating in the design all the relative environmental parameters.

Modern approaches to urban development incorporate design principles that respond to European and international frameworks for sustainable urban development (European Urban Agenda, UN Sustainable Development Goals), as well as methodologies and practices aimed at: enhancing resilience; integrating smart systems (smart cities); adapting the built environment to climate change through the integration of bioclimatic urban planning principles; harmonizing it with the river basin and flood management plans; utilizing renewable energy sources and resource saving technologies; promoting sustainable mobility.
